We like you, but.....

Despite the bad news, it's the nicest and most encouraging rejection letter I've ever received.

Dear Lincoln,

Thank you for sending me your material.

I've had a chance to review it and found your work to be quite good. Unfortunately, (Agency) cannot represent you at this time. The lack of viable openings in the markets we deal with is the major variable in this decision. It would not be fair to you or the clients I currently represent to take you on when my time and facilities are already committed.

Enclosed is a list of consultants that may be able to help you. I thank you for thinking of (Agency). I wish you all the best with your future broadcast endeavors.

Best regards,
(Agent)

Ah Lincoln, I will represent you. Before you jump out of your seat with elation you should know two things: 1) I will only be able to represent you until Jessie gets back from Belize and 2) I am only making this offer because, at the moment, I am tired of chasing the cat. If these two factors are not discouraging, please send 20% of your earning to me and I will begin the representation process.
