Bridgetown

I'm making a concerted effort to get this blog back up and running after the 4-month unintentional hiatus I put it through. Inevitably, while pondering what to write, I've gotten lost in past entries. I wrote this blog post about Portland back in October. I had completely forgotten about it. I find it kind of eerie since I'm now living in Portland. (Day 2 to be exact).

I'm liking the city a lot. I'm still living with friends but a new apartment is just around the corner. I think I've found one. I applied for it and I should know by the weekend. It's not my ideal place. My preferred location is in the Pearl District. Unfortunately, the Pearl District is pricey. I simply can't afford it. Actually, I might be able to afford it. But I wouldn't be able to afford any leisure activities...like drinking vodka/sodas on a Friday night.

Regardless of where I end up living...I'm here. Which makes me think this place was meant to be all along. And, like I referred to in the post before this, I had to learn a couple lessons before I was ready to finally be here.

Also...the aforementioned entry on Portland was titled "Rip City." It's a lesser known nickname of the city. I liked it back then. I don't anymore. My new preferred nickname is Bridgetown. The bridges in this city are awesome.
